5 images per category.

Image sizes for upload are 3000×3000 pixels at 72 dpi, please include metadata to identify you.

These rules and regulations are set out to protect your rights and ours. By entering the competition you are deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions set out below.

Entries.

1.   All entries will be required to supply their full name, email address and give consent for us to use this information for marketing purposes by the competition and its sponsors. A phone number will be optional.
2. All entries must upload their images to their chosen category, this cannot be changed after the upload has taken place, and we will be unable to answer questions about this.
3. Category types are: 

Lighting the land, Touching the water, Adventure / Travel, The Small World, Aerial, Smartphone World, Junior.

Entries are limited to: 5 images per category, and 3 images for Junior.

4. Entries must be received by the deadline of : 30th September in the current year of the competition. Any entries received after this date will not be included in the competition.
5. Entrans will need to upload images with a minimum size of 3000×3000 pixels at 72dpi, and be able to supply Raw and full size images should you be shortlisted.
6. KMF reserves the right to disqualify any entries if they suspect fraud or the breaking of the rules.

All images submitted must not have been entered into another competition.

Your rights and the rights you grant to us.

As a photographer you will retain the rights to your images entered in the competition, we will require the rights to use and reproduce your images as part of the entry into the competition. In all cases we will to the best of our ability credit any usage of the images you enter. Failure to credit or any oversight shall not be deemed a breach of this condition and we will seek to correct any errors once notified. Copyright of all images is retained by the entrant, however by entering this competition permission is granted to KMF and it’s sponsors for a non-exclusive license to reproduce the images (in their original format or to have been digitally manipulated) for uses which may include reproduction on websites, marketing or promotional materials including displays, leaflets, brochures and catalogues. The person uploading must own all the rights to the picture and have permission to upload/use the photo. We will always endeavor to credit the photographer in each case.

By entering KMF IOPOTY you agree to license the use of your images in the promotion of the IOPOTY competition, both digitally and in analog form, across all types of media, globally for the duration of the competition. You hereby grant this usage to KMF IOPOTY.

Please ensure all your images have the included metadata so they can be easily referenced back to yourself.

 

 

Shortlisting.

 

Judging we shortlist 5 entries for each category which then will be judged remotely by the judges to determine the winner of each category. Each category winner will be put forward to the final prize of the Steve Watkins award for International Outdoor Photographer of the Year.

1. Shortlisted entries will be notified by email, while notifications of the shortlisted entries will be posted on our website and social media.

Winners & Prizes.

KMF decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Prize winners notification will be at the live prize giving ceremony at the Kendal Mountain Festival. Please see the website for the exact date.

Prizes will be set out on the KMF IOPOTY Website.

Prizes are to be collected by the winners and are not transferable.

 

Social Media

KMF IOPOTY uses social media channels to promote the competition, we cannot guarantee how the images may be reposted or used over these channels and if those channel users will maintain our guarantee to credit.

 

Cancellation

 Should KMF IOPOTY need to suspend or cancel any part of the competition we reserve the right to do so for any circumstances out of our control. 

 

Refunds

KMF IOPOTY does not process refunds for competition entries. 

If you have made a genuine mistake please contact us and request a credit so you enter correctly.

 

Liability Limitation and legal responsibility

KMF IOPOTY can take no responsibility for any circumstances that may arise from photographs entered into the competition, nor problems encountered by entrants to the competition.

 

Disputes

Any disputes arising will governed by the law courts of the united Kindom

Rule Modifications

KMF reserves the right to change the competition rules at any time. Any participant affected by any changes will be notified by email.
